Headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, COPT is a dominant office landlord in the Greater Baltimore and Washington, DC region with office parks under development in San Antonio, TX and Huntsville, AL.

Also, Tom is Chairman of the OPOWER Business Advisory Board. OPOWER, a privately held company headquartered in Arlington, VA, is the global leader in energy information software providing the utility industry’s only cross-channel platform proven to drive efficiency gains on a large scale. Currently 85 utilities and over 16 million households in 6 countries partner with OPOWER to provide an entirely new customer experience and enhance the utility’s energy efficiency portfolio.

Prior to becoming COPT’s Chairman, Tom was Chairman of the Board of Baltimore Gas & Electric Company (BGE) and Executive Vice President – Corporate Strategy at Constellation Energy Group (CEG) (formerly NYSE:CEG, now part of Exelon Corporation NYSE: EXC). During a distinguished career at CEG / BGE, Tom held a series of senior executive positions providing experience in strategy, mergers & acquisitions, sponsoring Constellation’s largest start-up business unit (NewEnergy), managing local utility operations, and Chief Accounting Officer. Constellation Energy, a Fortune 200 company, owned energy-related businesses including BGE and NewEnergy. BGE is the largest electric and gas utility in Maryland serving 1.2 million customers. He continued to serve on the Board of Directors of BGE through 2012.

Tom is a director of ENBALA Power Networks, a privately held smart grid technology company headquartered in Toronto, ON, that provides innovative grid balancing services to utilities and electric system operators; a Trustee and Treasurer of the Board of Stevenson University; and served as the Chairman of Maryland Public Broadcasting and Maryland Public Television from 2003 to 2007.

Tom received a BS in Accounting from University of Baltimore, an MBA from Loyola University, completed an Executive Program at Penn State University and was a certified public accountant.
